ZooMontana's Foster Waterfowl Refuge Underway

ZooMontana has begun construction of the Foster Waterfowl Refuge. A unique concept, the habitat will be designed to be a natural flythrough for migrating waterfowl, creating a much-needed urban escape for wildlife, in addition to a remarkable educational centerpiece to discuss wetland conservation. Complete with a raised observation deck, underwater fish viewing, and boardwalks, this new habitat will be a multi-sensory, immersive experience for Zoo guests. Numerous private and public partnerships, including the Foster Family, Ducks Unlimited, Phillips 66, The Sunderland Foundation and Sibanye Stillwater Mine will create a space unlike any other waterfowl habitat within an AZA accredited institution throughout the U.S. The project will create vital educational opportunities to showcase wetland ecology and the conservation work of Ducks Unlimited to the Zoo's 170,000 annual guests.
