Domestic Rabbits are herbivores, eating mainly hay and pellets. Their average lifespan is 9-12 years and weigh about 10 pounds. ZooMontana is home to a few of these cuddly critters!
ZooMontana is home to quite a few breeds of domestic chickens. Such as Porcelain Bantams, Black Cochins, Buff Cochins, Golden Wyandottes (pictured above), Barred Rocks, and Black Australorp chickens. Depending on breed, they can weight from 3-5 lbs and live 5-8 years.
Flemish Giant Rabbits are herbivores. Their diet consists of leafy vegetables, grass and legume hays, and pellets. They tend to live in busy fields and forests, and are mainly domesticated. Their average lifespan is 5-8 years. Our resident, Lilly weighs 17 lbs.

With a wingspan of 68-72 inches, the Turkey Vulture is sometimes mistaken for a Bald Eagle when flying overhead. A tell tale sign is the silver of their wings. A carnivore, the Turkey Vulture feeds almost exclusively on carrion. They are found widespread over the country in subtropical forests, shrublands, deserts and foothills. In the wild, their average lifespan is 16 years, but can live up to 30 in captivity. They weigh only 3-5 lbs and are 26-32 inches in length.

The Belgian Draft Horse is mainly found in pastures like most horses. Unlike most horses, Belgian Draft Horses are much bigger and taller. On average their weight exceeds 2,100 lbs and reaches heights of 17+ hands. Their diet consists of grains, pellets, grass, alfalfa and hay. Their average lifespan is 25 years.

Domestic goats can be found in pastures. They are herbivores, eating tips of woody bushes or trees, grasses and pellets. Their average lifespan is 15-18 years and they can weigh anywhere between 50-150 lbs, standing just 3 feet tall.

Snapping Turtles live in freshwater areas ranging from SE Canada west to the rocies and south through Mexico & Ecuador. Their adult weight is 10-35 lbs and grow to a length of 8-20 inches. In the wild, these turtles can live up to 30 years, 39 in captivity. They are omnivores and have a diet consisting of leafy greens, fruit and vegetables mixtures and cockroaches.
