It is with a very heavy heart that I have to inform you all that William one of our Red Pandas passed away. Dr. Eric did everything he could for William for almost a week now but he had to humanely euthanize him. This was not an easy decision to make and we can not thank Dr. Eric enough for his professionalism and compassion in treating William.

This has been extremely difficult for our keeping staff but none more than Travis whom has so lovingly cared for William for the past several years.

Red Pandas in captivity generally live up to 12 years and on the rare occasion up to 14. William was ten. Red Pandas generally live alone and rarely reside in pairs or family groups. William and his brother Taylor were a very unique for this species as males do not reside together once the reach maturity.
