Melissa Filter

Melissa Filter is the Chief Nursing Officer for St. Vincent Healthcare. Melissa has served in her role since July 2022 after being the Associate Chief Nursing Officer. 

Melissa served in various leadership positions at two other care sites within the Legacy SCL Health system. She is passionate about safe, quality, patient-centered care for our community.  

Melissa earned a BSN and MSN, holds a certificate in Executive Coaching, and a Nurse Executive – Board Certification (NE-BC). 

Melissa served in the U.S. Navy Reserves October 2003 – September 2011. Melissa served on active-duty December 2009 – January 2011 when she was deployed to Iraq supporting a reconstruction team. She had a previous career as a chemist with several pharmaceutical companies. 

Melissa is married with two adult children who have both moved to Billings, MT. She loves the great outdoors and exploring countless trails in Montana. Melissa supports Zoo Montana for its care for families and the entire community! She can't wait to take her first grandson to the Zoo this spring!
