In hot, dry climates plants survive by enduring their arid environment or escaping it.
South-central Montana has both hot, dry summers and cold, dry winters. Although
technically not a desert, we are only a couple of inches of rainfall away from being one!
It makes sense to grow plants in your garden that can tolerate our climate without having to use a lot of water.
