Off-Site ("Zoo At Large")

The outreach program is designed to bring information and animals to those groups who might not have a chance to visit the zoo. Several small animals are reserved for educational programs only, and are taken off zoo grounds for these outreach programs. The information given during these programs ranges from general zoo topics to conservation issues.

Educational "Trunks"

Educational trunks allow you to bring some of the zoo to your classroom. These trunks contain interdisciplinary lesson plans and activities, and hands-on items for your students to explore. Trunks may be rented for $25 a week (borrower must pick up trunks at the zoo or pay shipping). A late fee will be charged for all late returns.

Outreach Programs

Why not let the zoo come to you? Programs are tailored to your needs and can include animal (animal outreach programs are limited in number of programs and duration of program) or non-animal programs or activities. Outreach programs generally last about 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the topic. Cost is $40/program plus 50 cents gas per mile with a student audience of no more than 40 children/program. Mileage is added to the program cost outside Billings.
